This year, I decided not to attend industry panels. Industry panels are typically reviews for release schedules of anime, manga, merchandise, and the like. While this can be fun to attend, it can also be a bit repetitive since most (if not all) of the titles being shared as new licenses (or titles that are set for release in the near future) are posted about on the distributor’s/publisher’s websites long before the panels take place. Moreover, many such panels are reviewed and discussed by other publishers long before we have a chance to get our post out. As such, I’ve collected the names of industry panels that were happening on Day 1 below and linked an appropriate article discussing the contents of the events.
Please note that some panels share links because the information released was grouped together. For example, several of the Crunchyroll panels share the same link. This is because the writer detailed multiple panels in the piece, hence a shared link. The panels are listed in the order that they appeared on the schedule (although one or two may be out of place since I am adding a lot here–sorry if that happens), hence some repetition too. Also, I will distinguish these from business panels, as industry panels are not really about helping others get into the business of anime, manga, merch, etc. A post including business panels and their information will be done separately from this.

Content-wise, they will be expanding primarily in the romance and BL genres (major sellers in the US and abroad). Meet Kafka Asagiri—Creator of Bungo Stray Dogs
Panel Description: Kafka Asagiri is a manga author and novelist who made his debut as a manga author with Bungo Stray Dogs, which began serialization in “Young Ace” in December 2012.
