Hello, Everyone!
It is a little early for this, but here are some of our plans going into 2024:
EDITING OVERHAUL
Remember back in July when I told you all that we would be having an editing overhaul? Well, it’s taken a while but we’ve planned an official deadline to finish.
Moving into 2024, we will be pausing weekly posts during February and March. During those two months, we will be completing our edits for the remaining past posts and then updating the older drafts on Tumblr.
Why February and March? You may be asking. The answer: this choice is arbitrary. The Editor, #me, felt like the team needed two months out of the year to finish up the editing overhaul and didn’t want anyone (including myself) to have to worry about kicking out content during that time. I also wanted to avoid overlapping with too many major holidays/anime events (which typically happen most often during the summer). We already had posts planned for January, so the options were basically any two-month choices between February and May, and I picked February and March––which the other active members of our editorial board agreed with.
GOALS
Video: Right now we’ve been preparing some videos. In 2023, we were able to interview the amazing Lauren Orsini and we hope to continue with videos like this in the future. Maybe post some of the panels Peggy has been presenting too. The goal is to add a new video to our YouTube Channel once every 3-4 months for now.
Posts: Peggy wants to make more of a shift towards the academic/professional types of posts. So, more analysis and fewer reviews but we’ll see. 🤷🏻♀️ In the meantime, outside of the two months mentioned above (February and March), we’ll try to maintain our weekly posting schedule. Peggy will do the brunt of that, with Kathy maintaining as our awesome Copy Editor! Krow is going to try to post every 3 months, and we may have a few guest posts sprinkled in too! (Also, who knows––maybe someone new will join!)
POST PLANS
January: We’ll probably mostly post things we missed in 2023. Part of our catching up on things!
February-March: Though there might be one or two posts during this time, we will not be posting weekly (as mentioned already).
April & Beyond: Return of our regular posting schedule!
BEYOND THAT
Thank you all for sticking with us and joining us as we continue to develop! This year has seen ups and downs, and it has been a joy to continue working on this blog during the turbulence.
Personally, I’ve had a lot of really hard times this year. I’ve had some good times too, but lost a close family member and struggled with pressures from work and school. The Anime View, much like it was when I first started the blog back in 2013, has been a source of great relief for me. I want it to remain fun for myself and the other members of the team and I am so thankful for all of you reading our content, liking, commenting, and just–generally–enjoying the work we’ve done. To me, that is the greatest value. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting us on this journey!
Sincerely,
Peggy Sue Wood
