Dear Readers,
I hope this post finds you well and thriving in your respective journeys. Today, I come bearing some great/bad news that marks a significant shift in our usual routine here on the blog.
I, Peggy, am thrilled to announce that I’ve been accepted into another graduate program! I’ll be pursuing a second MA in Asian Studies starting this Fall. The opportunity to immerse myself in the rich cultures, languages, and histories of this region is exhilarating and I am excited to begin.
However, embarking on any new adventure naturally entails some adjustments. One significant adjustment I must share with you pertains to our posting schedule. For the past few years, I’ve been committed to delivering a new post once a week, every Saturday. Following our editorial hiatus in February and March, I enthusiastically resumed this goal, but with the demands of this new academic pursuit, I must adjust my schedule.
Starting in August 2024, I’ll be transitioning to a bi-weekly schedule, which means I’ll be posting once every other week.
This revised schedule is a necessary step to ensure I can balance the rigorous demands of graduate studies with maintaining the quality and authenticity of the content I share with you. While I understand that this shift might be disappointing for some, please know that it’s not a decision made lightly. It’s about prioritizing and ensuring that I can give my best to both my academic pursuits and to you, our dear readers.
As for how long this adjusted schedule will last, I cannot provide a definitive answer. It mainly hinges on how smoothly I adapt to the demands of my first semester. However, I expect this schedule adjustment to persist at least until the end of this year, 2024. As a note, I have already planned content releases based on this bi-weekly change through December to ensure that the commitment is firmly established. Therefore, as of now, I can guarantee consistent content releases on this adjusted timeline through 2024.
Rest assured, despite the less frequent posting schedule, I am fully committed to delivering thought-provoking (hopefully) and engaging content whenever possible. If feasible, I’ll endeavor to maintain a weekly posting schedule, possibly incorporating more reviews or shorter content to accommodate. Furthermore, there’s a possibility that I may return to posting weekly once the term begins, armed with all the knowledge I’ll gain from this new program.
It’s important to note that my scheduling change doesn’t affect others on this blog. Kathy, our copyeditor and occasional contributor, and Krow, our contributing writer, intend to maintain their roles for the time being. Their content will be published whenever they have material ready or when they are available to write.
In the meantime, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support and understanding during this transition period. This community’s enthusiasm and encouragement have always been a driving force behind this blog, and I’m incredibly grateful for each and everyone of you as well as to everyone on our team.
Your patience and understanding means the world to me as I embark on this new chapter of my academic and professional journey. Thank you for being a part of this community, and I look forward to continuing to share our adventures together, albeit at a slightly different pace for a while.
With warmest regards,
Peggy Sue Wood
